Smarter Events

Smarter AI now offers a new Smarter Events Add-In for GeoTab customers using Smarter AI Dashcams. This integration brings a powerful suite of intelligent filtering and coaching tools directly into the MyGeotab (MyG) dashboard—enhancing fleet safety, accountability, and operational insight.

This add-in extends the intelligence of Smarter AI Dashcams, giving fleet operators enhanced visibility and control through smarter data filtering, faster event triage, and integrated coaching workflows—all from within MyG. Click Here for steps to add Smarter Events to MyG.

Key Features:

Event Patterns:

Combine two triggers to refine detection and produce more accurate, context-aware event data. This allows fleets to tailor insights based on specific behavioral indicators. 

How to use it:

Go to the Trigger Filter in the Smarter Events view and click on the Custom Combination option at the bottom. 

Select any two parameters to combine. The system will only show events that match both selected triggers.

High Magnitude Events:

A one-click filter that isolates only the most severe incidents. Game changer for identifying critical events requiring immediate attention or coaching.

How to use it:

Click the "High Magnitude Only" toggle to automatically filter out low-impact events.

You can also sort all events by their magnitude for a more targeted view.

Granular Event Filtering:

Customize trigger-based filters by defining thresholds for specific event parameters. This allows fleets to isolate events based on nuanced conditions like speed, duration, or time to collision, and gives safety managers complete control in surfacing only the most relevant and actionable data.

How to use it:

Click on a trigger in the Trigger Filter section and hover over it to reveal the filter icon. Click the icon to open advanced settings.

You’ll see multiple parameters to choose from—such as duration, speed, or time to collision— you can select one to define your condition. For example: Filter phone usage events with a duration greater than 10 seconds

Repeat Offenders:

Quickly identify drivers with repeated incidents, enabling focused coaching and intervention.

How to use it:

Activate the Repeat Offenders filter to view a list of only those events that were repeated by a driver in the same trip. This helps prioritize coaching efforts.

Gus Petch Preview: 

Hover-based preview of the most critical moments in an event, including key event data such as time-to-collision, speed, and distance. View essential footage instantly—no clicks required..

Coachable Events

Flag events for coaching directly through Smarter Events. In either the preview or full video view, click "Mark as Coachable" to flag the event for training or follow-up.

Steps to add the Smarter Events Add-In:

To enable the add-on in your MyG dashboard:

Go to System > Settings

Click Add-Ins, then select +Add-In

Enter the following configuration and hit Done.

Once added, you’ll find Smarter Events under the Safety section of your MyG dashboard.
